Give Brand New Coats to Kids with Lake Geneva Rotary Club & Lake Geneva Public Library

Did You Know?

Nearly one in five children live in need in our communities. Paying for food, housing, heat and healthcare takes priority, and children may have to go without a coat during the freezing cold winter months.

Help us Reach our Goal of Raising $4,000 to Provide Brand New Winter Coats and Books to Local Children in Need.

When you give, you will be providing warmth, confidence and hope to children in need through the gift of brand new winter coats. Help students attend school, socialize with their peers and play outside with pride.

Each donation will bring us one step closer to reaching our goal of bringing happiness and warmth to children living in need in the Lake Geneva area.

You will also help connect families with thier local library so they can learn about all of the fabulous children's programs.

Join us in service to children.

Every $20 provides one coat and two books to a child in need.

Our History

While driving on the streets of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Dick Sanford encountered a sight that eventually spurred the formation of Operation Warm: a group of children – coatless – huddled at a bus stop on a cold December morning in 1998. The sight led Dick to drive to a local department store and purchase every coat in stock. With the help of his local rotary club, those 58 coats were given directly to kids in need.

This gesture of kindness inspired the creation of Operation Warm. The first 58 coats were purchased by one man, but the millions of coats since then have been a result of communities united, working together to improve the livelihood of children living in poverty.

Our mission is focused on serving children in need between the ages of three and thirteen, which usually covers preschool through sixth grade. Because children come in a wonderful variety of sizes, so do our coats! We offer boys coats and girls coats in sizes from 2T up to Adults XXL.

Is My Donation Tax Deductible?

Absolutely! All donations to Operation Warm are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donations through our website automatically generate a receipt that can be used as proof of your donation. The Federal Tax ID number for Operation Warm is 38-3663310.
